POINT OF AYR LIGHTHOUSE

The name of this lighthouse often causes confusion as some people believe its located in Scotland. It is actually on the North Wales coast near Talacre and is one of the few UK lighthouses now serving as a residential property.

A short walk through sand dunes brings you to the sweeping beach where the lighthouse has stood since 1776. It’s a great location for both sunrise and sunset at low tide.
